Yuletide: Owa Monarch Stresses Need for Peace, Love and Unity among Nigerians
The Obi of Owa, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor 11 has charged Nigerians to always exhibit the virtues of peace, love and joy in their dealings with one another which the birth of Jesus Christ Signifies.
The Owa Monarch who is the immediate past Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, gave the Charge in his goodwill message to the people as part of activities to mark the birth of Jesus Christ.
He particularly admonished Nigerians to adopt a Christ– like type of Life by strictly adhering to His commandments saying that they should not unnecessarily lay more emphasis in the pursuit of materialism and merry making at the expense of reflecting on the essence of the birth of Kings of Kings.
Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor 11 therefore urged the people not to be distracted from the reason for the season and called for moderation in celebration and merry making.
The revealed monarch enjoined the people to take advantage of the season to rekindle their hope in the Nigerian project by specifically engaging in programmes geared towards improving the lots of the common man who had been negatively impacted by the prevailing economic hardship and insecurity in the land.
He stressed the need for reconciliation among Nigerians saying that as a people they should forgive one another of perceived wrongs of the past and be their brothers keeper in other to make the society a better place to leave in.
