• As Owa Monarch Celebrates 86th Birthday With New Book


Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has reiterated his dedication to fostering sustainable development within communities across the state by leveraging traditional institutions.

Hon Oborevwori disclosed this at the birthday celebration and book presentation of the Obi of Owa Kingdom, HRM (Dr) Emmanuel Efeizomor in Owa-Oyibu, Ika North East Local Government Area.

Represented by his Senior Political Adviser, Sen Emmanuel Agwariavwodo, Hon Oborevwori congratulated the Owa monarch on his 86th birthday, stressing that he would ensure the manifestation of the MORE Agenda in Owa and other parts of the state.

Governor Oborevwori, while acknowledging HRM Efeizomor 11 on his birth anniversary, described him as a role model whose life has continued to positively inspire the younger generation for the good of his community and the state.

Earlier, the immediate past governor of the state, Sen (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, commended the Owa monarch for ensuring the continued development of the Owa people, even as he thanked Obi Efeizomor 11 for documenting his thoughts in the book.

Remarking, the Chairman of the occasion, Deacon Tom Ogboi, extolled the Owa monarch for his intellectual efforts towards the edification of man, having authored six books, saluting his passion for the development of Owa.

‘’He is a role model for all to emulate. He is industrious; he is never weary. He is persistent, humble, and compassionate. He is sacrificial, focused, an achiever, and a dependable father who loves to see Owa develop. He is a humanist per excellence.

While reviewing the eight-chapter book ‘’Community Development In Owa Kingdom; The Nigerian Factor’’ Prof Ben Nwanne of the Delta State University, Abraka, recommended it to policy-makers, administrators, journalists, public relations practitioners, political scientists, anthropologists, sociologists and the general public.

Among the dignitaries present at the Owa monarch’s 86th birth anniversary and book launch were traditional rulers from across the state and beyond, the policies class, bureaucrats and technocrats, security chiefs and eminent personalities from all walks of life.

Also enlivening the event was the elaborate citation of the Obi of Owa by Prof Eric Eboh, cultural displays, and generous launching of the book by guests.
