Former Speaker, House of Reps Na’Abba Is Dead
A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ghali Umar Na’Abba, is dead.
Na’Abba, the second Speaker of the House of Representatives in the current 4th Republic, died in the wee hours of Wednesday.
NEWS DIRECT was unable to get the details surrounding the circumstances of his death as at press time.
He was elected Member of the House of Representatives in 1999 from Kano State.
He became the Speaker a few months after the inauguration of the House following the resignation of the then Speaker, Salisu Buhari, from the same Kano State, over certificate forgery scandal.
The burial of a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, is underway in Kano, North-West Nigeria.
Already, the janaza prayer has been held at the palace of the Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, on Wednesday evening, as the crowd of dignitaries and supporters move to the burial site.
Dignitaries present at the event included Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented President Bola Tinubu.
